Purchasing a Puppy:

Southern Kennels understands that purchasing a puppy can sometimes become frustrating.  That's why we do our very best to make the process quick, easy, safe, and secure for both you, Southern Kennels, and your future companion.  We offer a quick and easy to understand checklist to guide you through purchasing your puppy.  You will notice, there are two categories, Pick-Up and Shipping Customers.   If purchasing a puppy requires you to book a flight for your puppy, we even take care of that to. 

 

There are many scams out there, and unfortunately, many involve falsely purchasing puppies via false money orders, checks, claims, and so forth.  In order to protect our puppies from such individuals, we've created specific guidelines to follow in order to purchase a puppy from us.

Southern Kennel's goal is to produce a pup capable of competing in show and field trials.  We strongly encourage serious buyers who will definitely show, compete in field trial competitions, and hunt with their dogs. It has been in consideration of your best interest since the beginning of our program to produce a hunting dog tremendously gifted in the field to hunt quail, pheasant, duck, and even large game such as deer, elk, bear, and more.  Believe it, your pup will leave you in awe of his/her capabilities in the field and show.  If purchasing a Weim from us, There's a reason they are 1 of only 12 versatile hunting dogs in the world.  Your Dog was born for it.

Aron Helfinstine, Director of Southern Kennels is a Biologist currently pursuing a Master's degree in Biology.  Our primary goal is to provide a genetically healthy and well balanced personality weim geared for families.  With Aron's knowledge and understanding of genetics we have built a program genetically geared for success in looks, health, and temperament.  Purchasing a pup from us will steer away from genetic disorders and common problems found in the breed, saving you heartache and expensive vet bills down the road.  We've done the research necessary over the years to establish this genetically healthy foundation.  And our pups will naturally grow into a very well balanced personality, socially interactive with other people and pets, and sport a physically breathtaking appearance.

1)  Simply Place a $100.00 down payment via our quick store located here, the Home Page, and our products page. You can also call us anytime at 205-876-5175 to pay over the phone via our PayPal virtual terminal.  Furthermore, you can mail a check in the amount of $100 to our address.  (See Contact Us).  Upon receiving your payment we will immediately place you and your family on the list of your choice. 

2)  Click on this Puppy Contract link to download and fill out the contract straight from your computer.  You can either email us a copy as an attachment, mail it to our address, or bring the completed form back to us upon picking up your puppy. This also serves as a health guarantee and receipt for both you and Southern Kennels.

3)  Send a brief email stating the name you would like us to put on the list.  (e.g. John's Family).  Inform us if you plan on purchasing a male or female pup, and color such as silver, or blue.  Also, list any specific qualities you are looking for in your weimaraner.

Note: The remaining balance must be paid in full in cash only before you can receive your puppy.  Payment plan options are available!  Contact us for more information.

Note: If purchasing a puppy via Air Travel we prefer that you mail a check for your remaining balance including air travel fee a week before your pup is due to ship in time for it to clear.

Air Travel:  $400.00 additional charge is placed upon the puppy you choose to purchase from Southern Kennels.  We do not make extra profit from your Air-Travel purchase. Additional cost pays for the items as follows:

Flight Ticket: $260.00 Shipping Crate: $50.00. Vet health exam and Veterinarian Certificate required to fly a puppy: $100.00  Travel to and from airport: $20

Airlines generally require a shipping temperature of at least 20° F and max of 95 F. When weather will not cooperate, you can book your own round trip flight with a pet friendly airline and fly yourself to our location, pick up the puppy, and return safely home with your new puppy as carry-on luggage. You are responsible to provide carry on crate and book your flight.

Note: We will not ship the puppy to you until your payment has been received and cleared!
